We are looking for a new team member to support our story telling team, as we continue to grow.
About The Role
This is a part-time contract remote role for the Media Lead position at Founder Media Group, publishers of NZ Entrepreneur. As our Media Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation and quality of content in keeping with our editorial mandate. Your day-to-day tasks will include training and coordinating writing staff, project managing assignments, subediting and media relations.
A group interview will be conducted online before a second stage of individual interviews takes place. The group interview will take place on May 13th at 9am NZST. (If you canβt attend, thereβs a small chance we will hold a second one at a different time.)
Weβd love you to hit the ground running by early June.
About You
Whether you have a lot of experience in media – possibly as a journalist, editor, freelance writer or communications or PR professional – or are relatively new to the industry, what’s most important to us is your attitude, ability to work independently with a flexible WFH role, and to learn and uphold our best practice processes.
Comprehensive training will be provided to the right person.
Qualifications & Skills
Time Commitment and Rate of Pay
The Media Lead role will start off with receiving, coordinating and subediting approximately 1-3 stories per week (this increases during specific campaigns we run) but will get busier as we grow.
We expect the total amount of time required for each story would be 1.5-2 hours on average, spread across the phases of writing, publishing and distribution to media. (Some will be quicker/easier and some might be trickier/longer).
To keep the stories moving in a timely manner, it would require you to check in every weekday with all current projects.
This role is paid on a per-story basis (so the more efficient you are, the higher your hourly rate ends up being!) and should typically land at over $60/hr once you have learned the systems and processes.
Our intention is that this role will grow with you into a bigger opportunity with the company (20+ hours/week or even a full time role) and even have potential to earn shareholding for the right person.
