The Entrepreneur Mindset by Richard Liew

“They say that entrepreneurship is the hardest job you’ll ever love.”

There is so much to learn – much of it from trial and error, through the process of setting a goal, taking action and learning from your mistakes. Entrepreneurship, like swimming, can’t be learnt from a book – or a website. At some stage you have to jump in and get wet.

While the rewards can be great, it’s not for the faint hearted and even amongst those for whom building a business might naturally appeal, most won’t try. Inevitably entrepreneurs will become very familiar with a certain level of discomfort before they finally make it.

But to me, far more important than just making money, figuring out how to earn a living (or maybe a fortune) from doing something you love, while hopefully making the world a ‘better’ place, entrepreneurship like any creative endeavour, is actually one of the highest forms of self actualisation. In fact, many entrepreneurs don’t even know they’re doing it – they’re just getting on with going for their goals and making the most of their talents.

And if fulfilling one’s potential is not a worthy goal then I don’t know what is.

So #nzentrepreneur is for anyone who has taken the plunge into entrepreneurship, or is thinking about it. When you’re out there on that long, hard and sometimes lonely road, remember that many have walked the path before you and succeeded, and you can too if you’re committed and open to learning.

No matter where you are in your journey, if you’d like to get in touch I’d love to hear from you. Here’s to you #nzentrepreneurs…
