An award winning financial advisor and broker is taking his customer service strategy to the next level, spending 10 months transforming a former hair salon in Auckland’s Victoria Park, into a luxury work space for use by his loyal customers.

At a time when many businesses are pursuing work from home (WFH) strategies, Alex Wang is betting that creating a work environment that a home office just can’t deliver, can only be good for business.

With help from concept and interior design studio, Wonder, and filled with modern art and perks, Wang says he wanted to create a shared space for his clients to help them grow.

“Many of our clients are small and medium business owners, and not all of them have their own dedicated office space, so we’ve made our meeting rooms available for them to book, whether it’s for a meeting, hosting their own clients or just a space to work. I designed it with them in mind and want them to feel welcome,” he explains.

The office renovation is a passion project for Wang and he was happy to roll up his sleeves on the weekends to clear concrete, sand timber and clean the space. Wang also brought his own collection of art, books, sculptures and lighting to the space to create a welcoming and homely environment for those who utilise it.

The space features multiple pieces from his personal collection, including work from Gorden Walters, Claudia Kogachi and KAWS.

The office spans across two levels, with three meeting areas including a private meeting room and dining area on the mezzanine with a stunning view of the Sky Tower.

Wang says he wanted to create a boutique experience that reflects the brand.

“What sets us apart is our commitment to providing a personalised service to all of our customers, from the moment they engage with us to the moment of their settlements.

“We have created a boutique end-to-end lending experience to work alongside our customers at every step of their journey. Our newly opened boutique office is a reflection of our company values and we hope it will enhance the overall customer experience,” said Wang.

Wang’s top tip for building a loyal and happy customer base is ensuring a duty of care for all his clients.

“We understand that lending and buying properties can be a stressful but important milestone for many families and businesses. That’s why we not only care about the numbers, such as dollar amounts and interest rates, but we also care about each customer’s goals and life, working as their financial partner to help fulfil their dreams,” he adds.
