Now in its 5th iteration, the Kōkiri business accelerator program is proud to announce the ten startups, mostly in Tech selected for its latest cohort.

These startups have been selected from a competitive pool of applicants and will receive the support and resources they need to take their businesses to the next level.

The selected teams started their journey at the end of March as part of the Kōkiri business accelerator program, which will provide them with the resources and support they need to take their businesses to the next level. The program includes mentorship, training, and access to a network of industry experts and investors.

The programme will build up towards a showcase event, where the teams will have the opportunity to pitch their businesses to whanau, investors, industry experts, and members of the media. The event will take place at the end of June at Te Wananga o Aotearoa in Glenview, Hamilton.


The ten selected teams are:

Ako Academy Ltd

Ako A.I is an adaptive A.I driven app that provides contextual learning for beginner to intermediate learners of Te Reo Māori.

Greenwaste Products NZ Limited

Greenwaste products is producing biodegradable golf tees and other products made from NZ gorse and other greenwaste.

Hiwa Technology Limited

Hiwa Technology develops cutting-edge location tracking technology to aid in people management and Health and Safety for the construction industry.

Jain Tech Ltd

A company that provides grassroots esports programmes and tournaments for school students, creating pathways into the lucrative gaming industry and other tech enabled careers.

MYMECA Limited

A Mental & Emotional Conditioning App that helps anyone who suffers from stress, anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts.

Pairo Limited

Pairo Ltd is an HR platform to help organisations build capability and resource by utilising the power of video to connect organisations and talent in an authentic way.

The Culture and Design Lab

An interactive artificial intelligence powered chatbot and app prototype that provides anti racism interactive learning experiences for employees in the workplace, with a focus on Māori and Pacific kaupapa.

Toi Social Media Limited

A digital marketing agency that provides a range of services including website design, social media content creation, and advertising campaigns

Up2.NZ Limited

A digital interactive map of New Zealand that serves as a one-stop-shop for everything that young people would like to find including mental health services, education, entertainment, and job opportunities.

Urutapu Funerals

Offering a natural alternative option that provides sustainable and culturally appropriate funeral services, utilising woven Kōpaki Tūpāpaku (flax caskets).
