Can you tell us a bit about your business?

Introducing NOD β€” a secret weapon for navigating parenthood’s unexpected twists and turns. I have built an SOS childcare service that’s shaking up how busy parents, especially working mums, tackle their day-to-day. Whether they need an extra set of hands at home, have a last-minute Zoom call, daycare stand down or school holiday boredom. No worries β€” NOD is here with trusted, vetted nannies and babysitters just a few clicks away.

NOD was designed to make life easier for parents juggling the daily grind while also struggling to find time for themselves. NOD offers an ultra-smooth booking experience that connects you with reliable childcare pros in a matter of hoursβ€”because flexibility and peace of mind should be the norm, not the exception.

What drives NOD? Empowering parents to reclaim their time and sanity, while also giving nannies and babysitters access to flexible, meaningful job opportunities and extra income when they want it. Our mission is to connect local communities and make childcare a breeze, even when life throws you curveballs.

What’s the backstory for your business idea?

Kia Ora! I’m Haylee, founder of NOD and a first-time mum to a 20-month-old. Motherhood has been a humbling experience β€” nothing prepares you for the sleepless nights, isolation, and constant need for support. Without family nearby, I realised how much I needed a village. That’s when NOD was born. In the early postpartum days, I nervously reached out to nannies for help with my six-week-old. Their support was life-changing, and I quickly learned that trusting others to help care for my child was not only okay but essential. NOD offers parents flexible, on-demand childcare while rebuilding trust in our communities.
